Italy-based Notizie Geopolitiche news portal has posted an article analyzing illegal elections of the so-called separatist regime to be held in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
The article highlights the increased tension in the South Caucasus, especially in the contact line between Armenia and Azerbaijan, saying “Nagorno-Karabakh dispute, having remained unresolved for a long time, is a serious threat to the security in the region.”
The article also highlights European Court`s judgement on the case of “Chiragov and others v. Armenia”, which was declared in favor of the Azerbaijani IDPs, as well as Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry`s statement on illegal elections of the so-called separatist regime to be held on September 13.
Highlighting official Baku`s position, the author says that elections in the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh republic,” reaffirms Armenia`s aggressive policy and its non-constructive approach to resolving the conflict peacefully.
Giving detailed information about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the article says that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories have been occupied, more than one million of Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.
Highlighting the activities of the OSCE Minsk group, the author notes that the organization made no progress in the settlement of the conflict.
