www.DailyKarabakh.com website was presented in Baku Sept. 22. It was created by the ‘Support for youth development – Dushunce’ public association with the financial assistance of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the president of Azerbaijan.
The footage about the website was demonstrated at the event. It was reported that the purpose of the website is to bring the truth about the Nagorno-Karabakh to the international community.
The website will be in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, German and French. The information about the history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the current situation and the actions taken to resolve the conflict will be posted on the website.
The website is primarily designed for foreign-language Internet users. The website will post the articles, the views of famous Azerbaijani and foreign experts, analysts and political scientists.
Addressing the meeting, Azay Guliyev, the Chairman of the Council of State Support to NGOs, said that the occupation of Karabakh should never be ignored.
"Here, the country has the main burden,” Guliyev said. “The world has changed today.
Everyone knows about the criminal regime in Armenia. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has a great merit in its exposing. According to the president’s instructions, the main direction of activity of the Council is to bring the truth about the Nagorno-Karabakh to the international community.
The civil society greatly contributed in solving the problem. I am very pleased that the website will operate in several languages. This will play a significant role in bringing the truth about the Nagorno-Karabakh to the world community."
Elman Pashayev, the Head of the Public and Political Department of the Presidential Administration, appreciated the creation of the website.
"We monitored the websites about Karabakh a few months ago,” Pashayev said. “It became known that after a certain period of time, these websites stop their activity. The reason was connected with the weak funding sources. Until now, the information on Karabakh was mentioned on other websites. It is encouraging that an individual website on Karabakh has been created. I believe that we will use this website to bring a just cause of Azerbaijan to the world community."
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations. Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
