A conference titled “From the so-called Armenian genocide of 1915 to the Khojaly tragedy: Lies and tragedies of 100 years” has been held in Baku.
Co-organized by the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) and the Institute of History of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the event brought together MPs, Azerbaijani and Turkish scientists and historians.
Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, deputy Executive Secretary of YAP Mubariz Gurbanli stressed the importance of the event. “Armenians have been spreading the lie about the so-called genocide over the last years. This information is not based on any historic document.”
He said Turkey and Azerbaijan have made success in preventing and exposing the Armenian lies, and recalled the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in this regard.
He also emphasized the significance of announcing March 31 as the day of genocide of Azerbaijanis.
Other speakers highlighted the Armenians` terror acts and genocide policy against Azerbaijanis and Turks.
