Azerbaijani, French presidents mull Karabakh conflict’s settlement

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and French President Francois Hollande met in Baku Apr.25.

Hollande arrived in Azerbaijan for a working visit on Apr.24.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the current status of bilateral relations and emphasized the dynamic development of relations between the two countries.

They also emphasized the contribution of the reciprocal visits of the presidents over the recent years to the further development of the bilateral ties.

Moreover, Azerbaijani and French presidents expressed interest of the sides in further expanding the relations and noted that the two countries have great opportunities for that.

Ilham Aliyev and Francois Hollande also had a broad exchange of views on the latest situation in the negotiation process on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the active role of French President Hollande in the issue of settlement of the conflict.

Moreover, during the meeting, the sides discussed regional and international issues, as well as the issues of mutual interest.

The French president’s visit to Azerbaijan ended on the same day. A guard of honor was lined up for the guest at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and France.

Francois Hollande was seen off at the airport by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiyev and other officials.
