10 persons have been removed from the list of personae non gratae of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs since it was released, said the press secretary of the Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev.
According to him, the list was last updated on February 20, 2015.
Hajiyev says the list currently includes 435 people. He noted that number of foreign citizens paying illegal visit to Nagorno Karabakh decreased.
Unless a visa or an official warrant is issued by Azerbaijani authorities, the government of Azerbaijan condemns any visit by foreign citizens to the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is occupied by neighboring Armenia but is recognized as sovereign territory of Azerbaijan.
There are currently 6 Australians in the list – who were allegedly convinced sponsored by Armenian lobby to visit Nagorno Karabakh but they found it out later that it was illegal under international law.
